Just like your lashes need care and attention, your eyelids deserve love too. Because the skin on your eyelids is delicate and sensitive, how you remove your lashes and makeup can make a big difference in how your eyes feel and look over time.

Removing false lashes can sometimes feel painful or intimidating, especially if the adhesive is still strong. The best way to prevent discomfort is to never pull your lashes off. Instead, soak a Q-tip or cotton swab with a gentle makeup remover, oil, or micellar water and lightly rub it along the lash band. This helps soften the adhesive, making the lashes much easier—and safer—to remove.

After removing your lashes, it’s tempting to call it a night, but it’s always best to fully remove all eye makeup. When wearing lashes, leftover glue often remains on the eyelids or along the lash line. Leaving excess lash glue behind can cause irritation, dryness, or discomfort the next day. Taking a few extra moments to gently clean your eyelids can make a noticeable difference in how your eyes feel.

Wearing makeup regularly can also lead to dry skin, especially around the eyes. Once your eyelids are clean, apply a lightweight moisturizer or eye cream to keep the area hydrated and soothed. Don’t forget—your eyelids need moisture just as much as the rest of your face.

By being gentle, thorough, and consistent with your lash and makeup removal routine, you can protect your eyelids, extend the life of your lashes, and wake up feeling refreshed and comfortable.
